Fuel Pump Issues.........???????

While spraying some starter fluid into the air intake, and while trying to start the car up, there was this loud pop sound that came from the engine. Any idea as to what this could have been. After that happened, nothing seemed any different. The car still tries but doesn't turn over.

I've used this starter fluid on 3 other occassion with no problem, and I've been very careful with over spraying as I know this could **** the engine...hope that's not what I did.....o well...........

probably a backfire due to excess starting fluid in the intake

It was a backfire through the intake. Normally wont cause any problems unless it blows a vacuum or breather hose off. You shouldnt be using starting fluid on these engine. If it needs it, then something else is wrong. Starting fluid is not the way to fix it. Also, there is a coating on the inside of the throttle body that isnt supposed to be removed. What it does?.?.? I have no clue, but its there and its not supposed to be removed.

Im sure you didnt **** the engine either using the starting fluid. Have you done a tune up to it?

Yes! Both correct! I kinda assumed it was just a backfire.

Anyhow, fuell system problemed solved for now...........had to replace my ICRM.
