Never had much of an issue with the car aside from occasional electrical gremlins that are too infrequent for me to address.

Drove to work as normal on Thursday, went to start my car to go home and it cranked for 3 seconds, sputtered, then stopped. Cranks for 10 seconds but never fires. Battery is good but got a buddy to come with jumper cables just incase, no luck. Can’t hear the fuel pump turning on and checked the fuel line bleeder valve thing, nothing coming out. Hoping my fuel pump isn’t screwed I give up for the night. Aforementioned buddy gives me a ride to his house (Thursdays are poker nights) and get a Uber home.

Next morning and 20 minutes of reading online leads me to believe it’s the fuel pump control module. Literally hundreds of people with this same issue and a recall that my VIN is conveniently not included in. Oh well. Local ford dealership has three of them in stock. $40 after tax.

Fold down the rear passenger seat pull back the carpet, unplug old unit and replace with new one. Car fires right up. Potentially thousands of dollars saved with misdiagnoses and dealership throwing random parts at it (this location is known for that)

Maybe this is common knowledge but it was news to me and maybe it will help someone out in the future!

According to Ford my 2013 SHO wasn't eligible for the recall for whatever reason, checking online and phoning 2 dealerships. I'll eat the $40 cost of the part and not lose too much sleep over it. Lot easier than towing to the dealership.
Now if they wanna refund me for the cost of the part that'd be nice...

Had no issues with mine on my 2014 SHO but when I hit 100,000 miles I had the spark plugs, coils, and fluids changed. Then figured I’d replace the fuel pump relay for sh*ts and giggles. $40 spend and possibly hundreds saved. It’s my daily driver and I really can’t afford to have it out of commission.
