I just did the clutch on my 89 sho and after reassembling it, it would not start. I removed the fuel pressure regulators and it doesn't seem like either are working. Anyway to test them?

Did you check to see if there was pressure at the rail? Can't remember when they started the fuel shut off switch but if you have one it should be in the trunk check it. Do you hear the pump when you turn on the key?

No pressure at the fuel rail. Checked the fuel shut off switch, it was all set. I even bypassed it to check and see if the switch was faulty. And yes the pump primes everytime

If the pump is priming, there should be pressure. You'll have to disconnect the line at the filter, get a bucket and see if it squirts fuel when you turn the key. If it does, then you will need to move on to the fuel line to fuel rail connection.

If the pump is priming, but but not making pressure, chances are good that the problem is in the tank.

hmm i really hope no, i did do what you suggested. anything that would make the tank go bad from when i drove it there to when i did the clutch job? I disconnected the fuel pressure regulators which leads me to beleive they were on the way out and i just disrupted them

The regulator is plumed after the rails so you should still be seeing pressure at the rails if the pump is priming unless there is some problem with the sending unit.

How are you checking for pressure?

The pressure regulators rarely give trouble. Rule out the fuel pump before looking elsewhere.

Reset your idle. I'm willing to bet this has been your problem the whole time. I just went through this two months ago, I also replaced the FPR. I would have returned it but the new one just looks so good under my intake so I kept it.
