Fuel Pressure Reg question

Can I run the car with the vacuum line to the FPR removed and plugged to force a higher pressure to the fuel rail?

I am sure my FPR is shot and not holding pressure to the fuel rail. Will this temporarly fix my pressure problems?

FPR is ordered but I need to get to work tonight!
