I have got a strange problem that I am trying to figure out and am presuming that some of you may have been through something similar also.
I replaced the fuel pump last year and it gives every indication that it is functioning correctly now. When I start the car cold it goes through its cold rpm run and idle down correctly.
I got a check engine light which takes a few minutes (not like an oxygen sensor which goes out quickly) to go out. Sometimes it comes back on. So I checked the codes. I did the check several times. The first time I got 181, 189, 114.
114 is air charge temperature off line, 181 is lean rear cyliners, 189 is lean front cylinders.
I went to the schrader valve on the fuel rail and released it and got air, held it till fuel ran out ( not squirtied out). Started the engine again tested the schrader and got my squirt of fuel.
Shut the engine down and did a non runnig test again and just got a 114.
Do I have a bad fuel pressure regulator or what?
I had a problem with the car starting it warmed up. It ran ruff, stalled, wouldn't start. I checked the schrader valve again and got air again. Imlet the air out until I got fuel trickling out. The car started and ran normally again with no check engine light. I thought that just was a temporary situation since that was a few weeks ago.
Any suggestions here that will posatively point me in the right direction will be appreciated.
