fuel gauge stuck on full

My 93 fuel gauge isnt working properly, I have done a series of diagnostic testing which includes checking the resistance on the fuel level sender and also removing my cluster and testing for proper operation of fuel.gauge using a battery. All check out until it is all back together, and as soon as my car is on the gauge points straight up. I was hoping someone could help lead me in the direction of fixing this, thanks!

Given your description, I would start looking for a bad ground to the instrument cluster. The fuel sender resistance depends upon a good ground and good connections on the various wires that feed into/out of the cluster. Perhaps the cluster connectors have a problem.

Yeah the gauge itself worked well, but I wonder if its my cluster, the circuit board looked a little bit messed up, I ordered a new one and crossing my fingers it works but im just not finding anything...I dislike electrical

Problem fixed, the fuel pump connector needed to be cleaned up.

How'd you get to the connector? Have this same issue with my 94 mtx

You have to drop the fuel tank and it will be on top. Its pretty simple

Ugh, not gna be doing that anytime soon. I'll just fill up and use my calculations. Thanks tho
