I had a similar issue after I tried to add new SHO Source gauge face plates and had to remove the needles. After I reassembled everything both my fuel & temperature gauges maxed up to the top. I traced it down to fuse #18 under the dash. When I tried to replace it, the fuse kept blowing immediately. I have yet to figure it out completely but to give you the short answer... YES i would check your fuses & grounds. Check the fuses, then pull the dash & cluster and keep checking for any loose or exposed wiring on all the connectors as you pull them, & check for any pinched wires.so the sho i bought tonight seems to have a fuel gauge issue, it always reads full. is this just a sending unit problem or have i lost a ground?
