While dropping the subframe for MTX service, the front subframe bushing bolts broke off at the nut on one side, and spun on the other.

Does anyone have an idea or a proven way to take out the old bad nuts, and put new ones in? We are stuck again, so help would be nice.

There are openings in the frame rail/inner fender support near each nut, and the nuts will fit out the ones on the inside (towards the engine). Or, if you're really adventurous, you can remove the front bumper cover and inner bumper & supports and you'll get straight-ahead access to them. Replacement nuts in the recall kits have a hex head to you can grab them with a box wrench if the retaining tabs have broken off.

In Josh's clutch video, he mentions that the front passenger side access hole is behind the a/c accumulater and the front driver side access hole is behind the horns. He goes on to mention that the horns need to be removed but does not make specific mention for the a/c accumulater. I have a known issue on the passenger nut and am hoping to fix it while doing the clutch replacement. Just want to know what needs to be done for the passenger side subframe nut. Thanks.

The front Driver's side can be accessed from the fender side of the frame rail. I just did that one today. I was able to reach in and pull out the old nut and put in the new.

As for the passenger side, well, beats the **** out of me. I could find no "easy: way to do it, and I suspect that ya gotta take off the front bumper as has been previously mentioned.

My advice on the fronts is:

1. Use BUTTLOADS of PB Blaster before attemting to remove the main SFB bolt.

2. GINGERLY remove the main bolt and let the bolt "drop" as you loosen it. If you keep the bolt head "flush: with the SFB bushing sirface whole loosening it, you will push the nut up, and greatly increase the chances of spinning it.
