F-22 Raptor SHO

Was wondering if anyone had this problem:
I have a 1995 SHO and the front spring broke about a coil up from the bottom. There was a jagged edge of the spring that was 1/4 inch from my front tire. Ford issued a recall on pre 1995's to install a catch brace to keep the spring from hitting the front tire in the event of breakage. In 95, it was standard.
Hindsight being 20/20 I would have replaced the front springs with Eibach's, but instead I have Moog's. The car sits higher than it did before, something that isnt too bad in the winter, but isnt the best for cornering.
I ripped Ford a new one for letting such a item to be band aided instead of totally fixed.
Of course the effect is much the same as yelling at a brick for being heavy.
