front speaker size & info

a friend of mine is having some trouble with her two front speakers, so i'm gonna try and get her some new ones. does anyone have the specs for the two fronts, the ones in the door panel i believe....? if so does anyone else have a stock set for sale?

I think they are 6.5" speakers.

EDIT: 5x1/4" actually....But 6.5" will fit with a slight modification.

wth are you talking about, 5.25"? The front speakers are 6.5", period. Speaker brand choices are a lot like oil brand choices, but IMHO I like Pioneer speakers. No, they aren't crazy high-end (Kappas, etc.), but they aren't really cheap (Jensen, etc.). They're a nice, middle-of-the-road approach for speakers.

Of course, it's your option.

ok, so 6.5" for the front door ones..
how about the back?? on top behind the seats.. 6x9??
there's only 4 total or are there any in the dash?

If it's a Gen 1, I have no clue. If it's a gen 2, then the rears are 6x8. You can certainly fit 6x9s in there by hanging them underneath and drilling four new holes (and cutting some of that carpet-y stuff). I did that on both of my gen 2s and it makes a heluva difference.

Gen 1's are also 6x8 and mount on a removable bracket that puts them up high near the interior cover above trunk and w/bracket removed 6x9's bolt directly into the body cutout (holes provided) and sit lower down and into trunk a bit.
