How about a little thread recap, just to make sure everyone's on the same page:
rick-ng asked if anyone made a solid front motor mount for the V8 SHO.
SHO U UP said he hadn't heard of any.
LuigiSHO linked to Daniel Holtman's urethane-filled mounts post on TCCA.
whiteguy3 said that urethane-filled is not the same as solid, and that he could probably make some if anyone was interested.
SHOZ123 said he used a chain with good results and provided pictures.
SHO U UP liked the chains idea.
whiteguy3 said that was a horrible way to accomplish the same thing as a solid mount.
LuigiSHO liked the chains idea.
whiteguy3 said it was ghetto and risky, even though it's the way it's been done for a long time and he had no explanation of the purported risks. He said it was cheap, but other than that, inferior to a solid mount.
SHOZ123 explained further why it worked better than a solid mount.
rick-ng and Izzmo discussed a modified SLO solid mount from Autozone and whether or not the modification would void the warranty.
Sho Amo asked about putting the car in reverse with a torque chain on and both he and whiteguy3 said it was "ni**A rigging".
I asked why anyone was having issues with high torque loads on the engine in reverse but got no answer.
moobypets came in from Canada with pics of his Essex torque chain and everyone ignored him.
whiteguy3 brought up BMWs for some unknown reason and then said he wasn't hating while calling it ghetto and inferior to a solid mount.
And that's when the thread went off the rails...
