hey guys, I just bought a MI car, no front plate bracket.

I will be registering the car in Iowa, which requires a front plate.

I DO NOT want to drill a plate bracket on the front bumper...

Anyone got any good ideas? Maybe a bracket thats supported from underneath or through the grill instead of on the actual surface of the bumper?

Thanks guys,

Nate

i thought about that, the only thing is the crappy reflection in the glass and i dont want the edges chewing up my dash, or it sliding around during aggressive driving

Spray it with antiglare stuff (Not sure if it would work) and encase it in rubber. Really the only option we have here in Massachusetts that I know about.

Sorry

I believe that you can probably get one to fit the SHO from any Ford dealer, and since it was a no-cost option, Ford may provide it to you at no-cost. I know that my seat belt extenders were no-cost.

If you put it on your dash, you might find yourself not being able to get on base. BTDT.

I have thought about that. I dont want hassled from the base every time i pull on.

I also thought about just leaving front plate off, and mounting back iowa plate. but I know chances are Ill get harassed by local PD for sure. All the states around here are 2 plates, so it does stand out.

I did see an off center license plate mount on a sho recently, anyone know what it is?

They do look pretty cool. I have had experience with Altec before, they make great products and really stand behind their products. Highly recommend them.

They do have 2 versions, one that's powered and one none powered. I think the non-powered version would be the way to go especially if your in a state that you need to display your license plate on the front. But it sure would be nice to fold it out of the way for detailing...and I'll bet it's not that hard to install.

Having a plate sit on your dash is illegal. It also becomes a massive blade in the event of a collision.

the manual show n go one seems pretty legit...

Ill take a look under the car and see if theres room for it and a place to mount as soon as I get a chance.

Itll stay out and displayed almost all the time, but it would be nice to fold it under while washing the car or showing it off...

or ill just break down and slap the stupid dealer one on the front and cry about it later.. lol

In all seriousness, I have a license plate bracket that is to be mounted on the bottom of the bumper cover. The bracket allows you to fold the plate parallel with the ground and then push it back behind the bumper if you want to hide it for photo sessions or whatever. If you are interested in it, let me know. Bought it for the Z4 M that we purchased a few weeks back but we just cant find a good place to mount it so we're needing to get rid of it.

unless it was suppose to have one, or ur buddy-buddy with your salesman or dealer, they prolly wont provide one for free......

What do you want for it? Ford wants $32 for a factory taurus bracket.

We bought the bracket for 50 bucks. It's a quality piece but more expensive than the Ford part. If you want to avoid putting holes in your bumper then this would be a better option. You're welcome to come over and see if it will work on the sho.
