Ok this is weird one here. The other day I was driving my 95' MTX SHO and I was in traffic, taking off from a light. I was winding out second and shifting to third and I was trying to go through the gears fast to get to 5th. So I was flooring it but it wasn't up in the powerband so it wasn't accelerating quickly. Anyway the car was floored and wasn't coming down. Then I hit powerband and car started taking off and I was about to rear end car infront of me. So I was like Holy Sh@t! So I pushed clutch in while I was panicing and car went redlining for about it felt like 10 minutes but it was like maybe 5 seconds or so till I threw it in neutral and killed the car. I thought it was the floor mat got hung up on pedal or something I moved it around and started the car while rolling down the highway. Car started and pedal was normal again. Except it didn't want to change gears going up but downshift gears fine. Then it idle it was shaking pretty good. I thought great I screwed a plug up. So the next day I had to drive it again and I was on interstate so I said let me see if I can get it to do it again. So no traffic around I floored it and sure enough it got stuck again and before I did it I had moved the floor mat all the way back. I was like WTF? So I took it to a buddy of mine at a local ford dealership. He was real busy and only had a little bit of time to look at it. But he discovered the cruise control cable was locking the throttle up. I bought this car like 6 years ago and gas pedal has always been stiff but I thought that was in all SHO's. When he disconnected the cruise cable, the gas pedal feels normal like in my Lightning and Thunderbird SC now. So it's been screwed up for long time I guess. So then I asked him about the rough idle. So he was trying to narrow it down for me by pulling a plug at a time off the coil pack. But there was no change, all 6 were firing fine. So then he was looking at the engine and if you put your hand on back of the engine there is hardly no movement or vibration. But if you put hand on the front of engine it's shaking pretty bad. But car only does it at idle. Going down the road car runs fine. Anyone else ever had a problem like this? Any ideas to what the wobbling coming from the front of engine? Also I tried to adjust clutch. I got 3 clicks but nothing more. It's still a little hard going up gears, not as bad as the first day when it happened though. Clutch, timing belt, waterpump and so on is only like 20,000 miles on them if that. I did a complete everything maintence thing all at the same time. My mods include LFP chip, underdrive pulleys, off road exhaust and so on basic bolt ons. Anyone have experience or have a clue as to what might be wrong with this car? Thanks for input

Bad motor mount? Open the hood, get in the car set parking brake. Now put in gear and watch the intake to see if it lifts up. If it does more than a inch I would say the front mount may need replaced. Do the same in rev to check rear mount.

I guess I'll take a look at them. Which one do you think most likely would make the front of engine wobble but not the back? I guess tranny mount wouldn't.
