This morning my car wouldn't start. It turns over but just won't start, and if it does start, it dies right away. I have an 80mm MAF and an LPM. I thought it might have something to do with the MAF so I put it back to stock, but it didn't change. Then I took out the LPM and it has yellow gunk all over the contacts. Is my computer gone? Is there anything else that might cause this?

FWIW, the computers rarely fail.

It's almost always a sensor, an actuator, or a connection that causes most problems.

Of course computers do fail, but look elsewhere first.

Yes the check engine light comes on when I turn it to run. I tried to run the codes but couldn't make much sense out of them. I think I got a 223, which is a DPI, SPOUT or IDM circuit fault, but sometimes the CEL would flash one number and then stop flashing for a while and it was difficult to tell exactly what the numbers were. Thanks everyone for your help.

half-way there, I think.
I had a similar problem with my SHO once. The sputtering sounds like low fuel pressure to me. Is the fuel pump coming on when you turn the car to the run position?? If not, check the intertial switch in the trunk, might be tripped. Fuel pump could be bad or possibly the CCRM too.

Try looking here to learn how to read the codes. Look for the diagrams showing the timing of the pulses.
