found out what was wrong

turns out it was having more electrical issues than i thought...

a bunch of wires were cut that included the coolant sensor wire, the engine light never worked, and the fuse box was corroded which is what was causing the car to randomly shut off

anyone think that all this stuff being cut could mean that someone went in before and welded the cams? just a thought that would be nice

It's not that hard to take the front valve cover off. And a lot cheaper than the tow if the cams spin.

do these valve covers have the reusable gaskets on them?

Yes they do. Be careful of two thngs.

When you take off and put on the vanity cover there are metal rings that the bolts go through. These like to fall out.

The valve cover bolts will bottom out. Do not over tighten or you will snap them off.

dont worry, mine never had the vanity cover thanks though
