Anybody else have a problem with the blue background on the Ford grille emblem coming off? My 11k mile 2010 SHO looks like it was sandblasted. Just checking to see if this is a common problem or isolated incident. None of my previous Ford vehicle have had emblems look this bad after such a short amount of time.

^similar problem on the emblems on different models too. My boss' 2009 F-350 is also doing it. My 2010 SHO is doing the same thing. The fender emblems have the same problem on the trucks, the black lettering comes off easy as **** on the F series pick ups. I'm waiting for my entire emblem to be chrome here by next year. :nut: Hopefully Ford will remedy it if it gets that bad.

Thank you Chinaaaa. We really need to start making our own trim and other parts too. I would pay more to have USA built stuff on my cars.

Mine has 2000 miles on it and it is already looking sandblasted. My dad's neighbor has an Expedition with the same problem and two different dealers told him to go pound sand......

I noticed mine starting to show speckles of silver from under the blue but wasn't sure if it was intentional since it is so evenly distributed on my front emblem so I was going to check out a new one next time I hit the dealer and have him order one. I already had to replace the rear one. I also had the one on my BMW replaced several years ago when it was less than a year old and the VW emblem on my Jetta has faded out the black to gray, I think it's an epidemic!

I'm in the North Metro (Shoreview), but bought my SHO at Metropolitan Ford in Eden Prairie. I usual have it serviced at Midway Ford in Roseville (20 miles closer). I called my salesman today and emailed him the picture and the Service Manager agreed to order me a new one. It will probably do the same thing again, so I might try to make a custom emblem with "SHO" on it instead. I already pulled the sandblasted looking one off the car. You would think that the one part of the car that should look good would be the one with their logo on it. They should go back to the vendor they used in the 80's, as my 1986 Mustang grille emblem still looks brand new.

you guys are drafting wrong

you gotta move in from the left or the right and be less than 2 feet from the rear bumper to minimize the dust/debris/sand from flying up at destryoying the emblem

you guys must be coming in from the rear too far where debris is getting kicked up from tires/ rear vacumn

I happened to be at my dealer today for an unrelated issue, I mentioned this issue, and they replaced the emblem.

They have not seen it prior. I did look at their 4 new 2010 Taurus, 2 of them had the start of the sandblast look. .

I looked at other used Fusions and older Taurus and saw no similar look. It looks like 2010 Taurus's got lucky or unlucky.

I was also lucky that they had the item in stock

Sho UUP,

I was thinking the same thing. They said they have a huge business in Wholesale body parts for body shops. He said we probably have 2 fenders for both sides and a few hoods for a 2010 Sho in stock

The Ford dealer called today and said my replacement emblem is in, and to stop by and have it installed (30 minute job, according to them). I uninstalled the old one last week in about 10 minutes and made my own front emblem using the deck lid SHO emblem and a black oval decal (covers the 2 emblem pin holes and a square hole above them in the grille) that I had from another car project. I think I like this look better, and will just hold on to the new Ford emblem to put back on in case I ever sell the car. I also checked my wife's 2010 Edge emblem this past weekend, and sure enough it is doing the exact same thing. Guess I'll be ordering one of those tomorrow while I'm at the dealer.
