I had the same problem. The car sounded like it was shutting off the ignition about twice a second and the whole thing just ******. Didn't happen all the time though. It used to even chirp the tired when I tried to accelerate in first gear. I thought I was going to tear the transmission out--needless to say, I was ******.
Ford dealer told me I needed a whole new computer, So they put on in. Next day, it did the same thing. I was steamed at this point, as my new computer cost me $400. Turns out it was just the CAM POSITION SENSOR and it wasn't bad, it just needed adjusted. $47. I ended up getting the computer for free in the end but what a bitch just for an out of position cam sensor. DON"T SELL YOU SHO!!!

Also, check your fuel pump. Sounds odd, but my car kept idling strange, and almost dieing, and it turned out to be a nearly dead fuel pump. It was putting less than half the normall pressure through the car. Just a thought. DON"T SELL YOUR SHO!!!

Alright now every post from the beginning has the same theme. First thing to check: PLUGS and WIRES. I can't believe you changed the cam sensor and checked the plugs and wires after. Stop leak is a no no. This condition will only get worse. Run a search on here for the felpro upper gasket set and replace them. Then dump the plugs and get agsp32pp. Cheap @ fordpartsnetwork.com. Go from there. Usually,if one of these cars runs like crap when you try to sell it, you'll lose more money than it'll take to fix.

.

Lip- The CID and cam sensor are the same thing. CID= Cylinder IDentification, that is your cam sensor. The crank position sensor is a tough one to replace, it connects at the top of the engine near the crossover tube, and runs all the way down behind the timing covers to the crank. If you haven't replaced this, try it. I'd dump those bosch plugs for the OEM motorcraft. Have you checked the plug wells for oil or water?? How is the ground on your DIS??

Dave, sorry I was thinking we should help him first which you were also trying to do

That's a negative on the stop leak. What you need to do is get the fel-pro gasket set from an autoparts store, and pull the valve covers and replace the gaskets (valve cover gaskets and plug well seals). If you haven't had a 60k done, or at least haven't done the shims, you might as well hit those while the covers are off. It's really easy...I digress. You can use a turkey baster ($1.39 @ kmart) to suck the oil out for the time being, but I'd address the problem with a real solution sometime soon if possible.

Ryan- I was only kidding anyway. My car has enough problems of its own, last thing I'd need is another SHO...(not sure whether a smiley or frown goes after that, haha).
