Someone finally wrote it down in an article. We've seen all of this over the years and most lawsuits go Ford's way. Usually in Michigan courts (no surprise).

That's a pretty good article but I'm surprised it didn't mention the crappy internal water pump issues. I don't think it's a widespread issue but IMHO it is definitely worth being included.

Wrong.

SHO's ceased production with the 2019 MY.

Secondly, the 4th GEN SHO was/is the 2010 through 2012 MY's.

2013 to 2019 makes up the 5th GEN SHO.

First of all....sarcasm.
Second of all the SHO didn't get the second gen 3.5 and never will.
Third of all... where is Ryan Selcer

Ha. Ok. Sometimes inflection, tone, etc. are terribly lacking in/on internet posts.

Just wanted the right info out there for general consumption.

No dig by any means.

And yes, where the **** has Ryan been??

I think we're all missing him.

In 2017, Ford has revised the design of the 3.5L EcoBoost and a new more powerful version became available for the 2017 F-150, 2018 Expedition, and 2018 Navigator. The upgraded engine received a number of changes, but the most noticeable of them is the addition of multi-port fuel injection and new turbochargers. The operation of multi-port fuel injection is combined with direct injection, what covers a raised fuel output needs but also prevents a carbon buildup on the intake valves keeping the engine on the same level of performance during a long mileage. New Borg Warner turbocharger has turbine wheel made of MAR-M-247 super alloy and electrically actuated wastegate reducing turbocharger lag even more.

New 3.5 EcoBoost is equipped with a two primary chain system (there is one separate timing chain driving each cylinder bank). The cam chain drive sprocket on the crankshaft is a double gear arrangement. New chains are also more durable and less prone to stretch due to an increased thickness of the side plates. Cylinder heads now have a roller-finger follower valvetrain and light hollow camshafts. All these changes are aimed at reducing friction and mechanical losses. And finally, the compression ratio was increased from 10.0:1 to 10.5:1 (excluding H.O.).

The truck engine is like gen 2.5 now
Off topic...

I'm half-wondering/hoping the Raptor actually moves to the GT500 Predator engine now that Dodge dropped a freaking Hellcat into the direct competition to the Raptor. Although I personally still prefer the Ford over that Dodge, I'm mot sure how they will stay competitive in that space if they don't up the power output significantly.

I’m not sure ford will ever put a v8 back into the Raptor. They are highly concerned with gas mileage. That truck is merely an idea of what it was originally. The creature comforts and sunroof and such have made the Raptor a speed bump champion more so than a desert racer. The capability is still there but the $80k price tag really keeps people from going off-road.

Also, I can’t imagine them using the GT500 motor. I think they are all hand built flat plane crank monsters. The Raptor production numbers are way too high.
