I love my non-PP massaging seats.

My kid's have referred to the heat as "butt warmers" & in the warmer months, they say the cooling feature makes it feel like they peed on themselves.

Bunch of weirdos.

It gets me wondering, given all the technology used in the seats alone, those damn things must be pretty heavy.

I wonder what each seat weighs?

I was going with winter tires anyways so having dedicated summer tires was a plus for me. I love the gearing on the PP and the suspension isn't too harsh for me so far.

Me and my friend were wondering the same thing. He was guessing 50-60 but I'm bettimg more considering the heaters, cooling and power motors. Closer to 75lbs for each front seat.

Looking under the seat at all the wiring and stuff I was blown away by the massive mess under there lol. The reason I was like what was because the one guy had made a point his non pp massaged his ass as he ripped off but it's also option on the pp so its irrelevant. Or does it come with one of the packages? But I think all shos have always had that option.

Anyways I loved my seats till the right bladder on the drivers side went 3 hours into a 12 hour trip. Stuck fully inflated. Tried everything I could but ended up balancing the seat with a towel or something. Went to ford they just reset some stuff in the seat and it has worked fine since.

It was the first time my brother had been in the car so was kind of embarrassing. Going from smug check this out to full face palm wasn't to fun lol.
Not to mention my blis faulted out twice on the same trip. Battery seemed to produce a lot of white corrosive substance quickly. There was even a sort of splash on the engine cover. Most annoying thing about it is ford didn't really change anything in seat or mirrors or my battery. Lol

I got PP for the coolers and alcantara steering wheel. At least 2013 PP still got the auto parking feature.

Roads and weather also availability of inventory. Has a harsher stiff ride maybe people like more comfort. I live in AZ and I need the PP! :)

What was the reasoning?
1. Didn't know there was a PP vs Non-PP; new car criteria @ the time was A) FORD Sedan, B) V6 engine, C) AWD and D) SYNC This car had that, plus a bunch more.
2. Demo'd a '15 Taurus SEL FWD and Limited AWD w/3.5L and was unimpressed.(First thought I had was my '12 Fusion SEL 3.0 [trade-in] would blow the doors off this thing)
3. This was the only SHO the local dealer had.

In retrospect, I did OK, both on the deal AND the car; The option pkgs this car has( 401A & Driver's Assist) will get more use from me than the Track Pack would've.
That said, I'd like to have the lower gears (due to the sheer weight of the car), cooling package and bigger brakes, just because. I'd swap the rear heated seats and sunroof for them in a heartbeat.
Still learning, that's why I'm here :)

For the price/mileage range I was looking at, I really only had two choices. Both were non PP. I went with the one I got due to the gps and the closeness of the dealer.

When I was looking for this beast I was looking for the lowest mileage/best condition SHO. What I did find was a 2010 nonPP w/33,000 miles. So that's how I made my decision.
Does PP really make the SHO that much faster? Ughhh now I'm thinking I should of waited to pull the trigger on SHO. I want to go as fast as possible lol :burnout:

Stock there is no difference in power and torque between the PP and non-PP SHO's. And y0u can do the same mods to both. The performance package primarily adds an oil cooler, more aggressive brake pads, a lower gear ratio, I think a different PTU (transfer case) and a few other items. Because of a lower gear ratio it could be a very small bit faster, but you likely wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

When I was looking for a used SHO there were three 2014's at one dealer. All were non PP, but were priced the same at 26.5k. The one with the lowest mileage (28,000) was Tuxedo Black, also the color I wanted. It's fully loaded with every option except Nav, and I couldn't be happier.

As far as there being a performance diff, I took it to the track once and ran [email protected] mph in 100% bone stock condition (DA 1400 ft). I have no problem with that, and the car shall remain bone stock.

Couldn't find a performance package car the way I wanted it. I'm of the mind that too much power isn't quite enough, but I really wasn't disappointed with the drive and feel of the non PP car. In the bumper to bumper traffic I find myself in, not sure the PP would've mattered all that much anyway.

In a R&T "SHO vs EVO" test, they stated there was no difference in 0-60 times between PP and non PP cars. So yeah, in the kind of driving you and I do there isn't going to be a difference.

i drove both non pp and the one i bought thought the non pp was way to soft for a performance sedan, but with what i else i drive or have driven the pp drives like a caddy
same reason wanted the coolers and the wheel never use the auto park yet

Most of the PI cars have the same 3.7 Flex Fuel engine as the SUV (Explorer) Interceptor, unless they have the 3.5 Turbo. Then the engine is the same as the SHO (PP or non-PP).

not even talking about the 3.7 does not apply here

I seen other post on other ecoboost sites, and service techs say the internals on the 3.5 tt PI cars are different more robust to handle the long hr and lots of idle time,
the PP car do get all the same coolers and trans as the PI cars do, that's why we get the higher gear ratio....
