1. One wasn't available at the time i was looking.
2. Adaptive cruise control is the bomb.
3. Wife is scared of the car as it stands - not sure i needed the faster gearing.

I agree - if you drive with the cruise control, adaptive cruise control is required just like your garage door opener is required if you have a garage.

My only reasoning was that the adaptive cruise control was not available with the PP. I wish it would have been packaged with the PP. As the above posts mention, acc is very nice to have while cruising on the highway.

Since the ACC is a popular answer to the OP question, does anyone know why Ford never combined the two options (PP and ACC)? If they did at some point, my mistake. I know they did not on the 2013 model year.

PP wasn't a big deal to me because I really wouldn't see any added benefit. I don't track my car (road course/drag strip)... I definitely would have opted for it if I was on the track.

Also beneficial in heavy stopngo driving/hot climactic conditions. Not to mention the PTU cooler for the 2013+ (tho not sure if it is actually helpful).

A lot of the people that seem to buy the PP plan on using them as their 'fun' car (drag strip/road course/autocross). I bought my 2013 non-PP as my primary road car. I may do one HPDE event a year (usually at the yearly SHO Convention), but my primary 'fun' car is my 2002 Corvette.

Not to mention, if I have a blow out I'm not stuck with a glorified can of fix-a-flat....I'll actually have a spare to throw on to keep me going. The benefits of the non-PP heavily out weigh the PP IMO.

for my 2010 it was because the pp wasnt really much. with how many ptus i saw go out over the years extra cooling is very welcomed. Im about to hop in the 13 pp but scared the ride is to stiff.

The spare tire equals "heavily out weigh?" Can't be serious. The PP has oil and trans cooler, much better sport suspension, and steeper gears which I think is necessary to make the SHO.....a SHO! Without the PP you're missing half the puzzle of what makes a SHO.

For a DD I'm quite serious. The gearing is negligible as far as acceleration goes and the suspension equals a harsher ride. Maybe not "heavily" outweigh but I'll take the comfort and security of the drivers package and a full spare any day. Oh, my SHO will massage me as it blasts me back in the seat too. Both are fantastic but I just prefer non PP.

And I don't need to buy a second set of tires for my Illinois winters.

Since the radar sensors for ACC and self park live in the same front bumper space as the supplemental oil coolers introduced in 2013 PP the options cannot coexist. While it may not be physical interference there is some production constraint that keeps the two from being combined.

As far as the PP spare, or more accurately lack of, what is to stop someone from getting a non PP spare and Jack and tossing them in the trunk well? As far as I know noting in the PP precludes the use of a small temp spare. It's just a weight save like Ford does with the Mustang track package's missing spare.

I needed a car right away and I was lucky to find a SHO, so I decided to get it. I figure if you don't plan on using the car on the track you really dont need the performance package.

Yes they do! And the gearing doesn't make hardly any difference in mpg! Adaptive cruise was also available on some shos not sure what year so that would be the only benefit.
