I pulled an auto-dim mirror from a '89 T-bird for my SHO but am at a loss as to how to wire the thing. The harness has 3 wires, which makes sense:

1. Always hot
2. Switched hot
3. Ground

But which are which? There is one wire with a stripe on it, but the other two are identical shrug

any ideas

thanks

Couple of choices:

1. If you can get your hands on one, check out the wiring schematic for the t-bird.

2. Call a dealers service department; most times I've found that they'll give out alot of info, especially if it's easy to look up.

3. Trial and error. eek!

Good luck and let us know!

Later!

I need to fly out to Cali and buy you a beer. I think you are related to me! :D

I have an auto dimming rear view mirror from an 90' T Bird in my 95. I'll get you the exact wiring on it tomorrow. The three wires are power, ground, and illumination.

The 3 wires are power, ground and the 3rd undims the mirror when you put it in reverse. I didn't hook up the 3rd one. Mine doesn't have any map lights in it. Got it from a Lincoln TC.
