I have some that have APC logos on them. quality shows, they have both broken, the lenses don't take punnishment. I think they are made by PIAA though, I know PIAA has an identical light, I'm hoping maybe they are higher quality than the APC versions. they are narrow enough to fit in the stock spaces in the lower grill. I like them because they are oval shaped, they really fit the lines of the car well, if only the lenses weren't so weak. I have Silverstar H3 55W bulbs in there. I think I'll replace them this summer with either the idential PIAA versions or something else about the same size.

I recently added PIAA Solitaire 001 Yellow Plasma Ion lights to the lower part of the front valance. These lights are oval and match the car perfectly IMO. I got them off Ebay at a fraction of retail cost, and they came with everything needed for hooking them up including a relay. As far as power for the lights, I chose to not use the supplied switch, and hard wired them to my parking lights, this way they turn on with the factory lamp switch and the autolamp feature can be used as well. :thumb:

As for a switch, I used a GII SHO fog light switch and mounted it next to the headlight switch. You can either run the battery power right through the switch, or do what I'm going to do and wire it to the parking lights and use a relay.

I did mine the other day. I went to get new bulbs, and they still wouldnt work. :nut: The fuse was good, and the FL switch light was on. I cut the wires and they were burnt out from the elements. I kept cutting until I got some good wire, and still nothing.
My friend had some old yellow fogs that were relativly the same size as stock, so I took the yellow ones and put them in the stock frames. THEY FIT PERFECT. I went out and got some wire, tape, connectors ,shrink wrap, and some loom, and wired them to my parking lights. The results were beutiful. They look awsome. Gen3's are a little different i imagine, but Im just giving you a last resort idea just incase you cant get them working. :thumb:
Now the FL switch is non-functional, but it dosent matter if you like your fogs on all the time like I do. ;)
Ill post pics tommorow if you wanna see.

it does pull out, but only to give access to the hole you use to remove the switch. there is no contact on that function, so there's no way to set it up to work. you have to either:
1. wire up your fog lights with a relay to come on with some other light, parking lights, high beams, low beams...whatever you want.
2. hook up an extra switch to activate your fog lights
3. retrofit some other cars headlight switch into yours. I think I've heard that the headlight switch from a ranger has the pull out function which does have a contact, but you'd have to figure out how to get it to fit in your car.

F-series w/ fogs and AutoLamps should work too. So far, I don't think anyone has gotten the switch out and actually tried the swap, though. It's such a PITA to get the switch out on the SHO, let alone on the donor truck. The F-series and Ranger switch bodies are identical in dimensions to the Taurus so fitment should not be an issue.

My fogs are wired up pretty well, if I do say so myself. The fogs are teed together, fed by a single 12AWG for power, and a single 12AWG for ground. I chose 12AWG so a single wire can carry the load for up to two 100W bulbs, or four 55W bulbs, if I decide to add more fogs or driving lights. The (-) is grounded in the engine bay at the ground point near the stock battery location. The (+) is connected to a 30A relay that derives it's power from the Mega-Fuse, and it's "trigger" wire is derived from the parking lamp "dim" lead (which is always hot w/ parking, low beam, or high beam, and is not affected by turn signals or 4-way flashers). This trigger lead also has a breaker switch in the glove box, so I can override the fogs manually. This could easily be replaced by the switch in the Ranger/F-series headlight switch if I ever go that route.
