If anyone could provide more information on the stock MTX flywheel and what exactly they do to resurface it, it would be appreciated. Specifically the clearances that are supposed to be there. I found a decent shop in the phonebook, and I'd like to have them do the work, but in their book they don't list any numbers. They said they can take a bunch of measurements and figure it out, but I'd rather be sure since we're talking about a clutch lasting here.

Thanks!

I took two flywheels to NAPA Auto Parts and had them resurface them to a beautiful rotary lathed finish with their "$10,000 flywheel machine" for a modest $25 each. They used a dowel puller to remove and replace the three alignment dowels. They also knew more about the limits than I could possibly know.

It's a straight cut (no step) pretty straight forward, just tell them to take off as little as possible :)

Usually you can clean them up and only take off about .005". May take more if you are using an aggressive clutch material.
