What tranny are you using? For a rwd aplication, there are no tranny`s that will bolt up.There are a few that can be bolted up with alot of modifications though, the cheapest being an Aerostar with a spacer ring. The upper end of the spectrum is a Porche tranny, that`s been done before too.Don`t forget about how you are going to run the motor. With a differnt tranny bolted up,the SHO computer will NOT let the car move, you`ll need a Haltech or equivelant. Can you give more information on your project?

The 3.0l SHO and 3.0l vulcan shared the same bellhousing bolt pattern so the ranger tranny should bolt up if it had a vulcan attached to it. A 3.2l SHO flexplate should work. You can't use a vulcan flexplate as it has 6 crank bolts and the SHO has 8. Then there's just the question of "will the AOD torque converter bolt up to the 3.2 flex plate?"

I know I'm bringing up an old thread but I need to know if the 3.2 SHO flexplate and AOD torque converter mate up. I just found a 3.0 Ranger today with an AOD, 2wd, pretty nice for real cheap, as soon as I seen it had a 3.0 that got the belts turning in my head about a possibly easy SHO Ranger project.
