Well this is kinda embarrasing... I was working on my car the other day, close to the transmission range selector, and somehow I bumped into the shifter cable and I messed up the sync between the range selector and the floor shift lever.

So right now if I select Reverse, is Neutral. Then Neutral is Drive, Drive is 2nd and 1st is 2nd. :nut:

I can still engage park and turn on the engine without any problems, but I'd like to correct this.

Any of you know how to sync again the floor shifter with the actual gear that I select?

You will need to loosen the connection where the shifter connects to the Trans. Once you loosen that connection you will need to manually put the trans into neutral(make sure the parking brake is on). Once you manually have the trans in neutral you will put the shifter into neutral and then tighten the connection again. Now both the shifter and trans should both be in neutral and will shift togther again.

Thanks a lot man! Just one question. What if I place the transmission in neutral with the shifter (actual neutral not just on N) and then loose the connection at the end of the cable, then move the shifter to N and then tighten the connection at the cable. That should work too?

Yes, as long as you are sure its actually in neutral that should work too. The main thing is knowing where the trans is so you can sync the shifter to it.
