flickering engine light

Haven't done codes yet or actually don't know how but last couple of days engine light flickers on and of then not for a while almost like a loose wire or an sensor for the overflow bottle or something?any ideas please

Maybe a loose wire or a sensor for the overflow bottle? There is no way to know from your description. Look at codes and alt. and battery output.

My CEL was coming on and off intermittingly while driving. Went out and bought the Equus 3145 scan tool from AutoZone. Works really great, easy to use also ($29.99). Turned out to be my o2 sensors. Getting ready to change them out this weekend and see if this cures my flickering light.

It's not necessary to go out and buy the scan tool. I just use the paperclip method and it works fine for me. Here's a link on how to do it and how to read the codes you get. Hope this helps!

I know I didn't need the scan tool, but it does make it easier to read. I did the paperclip thing, but these old eyes of mine had a hard time breaking down the blinks.
