How many times can you flash the ECM from stock to stage x tuned?
Seems I always understood that after a 100 or so flashes it jacks up the ECM, thus the fact they sell ecm's you swap in for flashing. I want to be able to flash stage 4 on 93 for the weekend then swap back so the wife can use 87 driving back n forth to work.

I don't really think it matters. I'm pretty sure mines been flashed at least 100 times by now with all the experimenting

I'm gonna have to flash back n forth. The last 4 cars I've had took premium and the wife didn't want to have to run premium driving back n forth to work.

It's an extra $1.50 for premium with 15 gallons of gas. I think if you buy a $40,000 car she can open the change purse a little wider. Jmo.

In my last 2 trucks (F-150 and Mark LT) running premium ALWAYS increased the mileage...can't say the same about the SHO...I've only used premium fuel since I've got it.

From what I've read it takes like 15 minutes on the SHO to flash it. That would be a pain in the butt to do all the time just to save a few bucks on gas.

When you first install it, it takes 15-20 minutes to backup the stock file, and install the tune. When you flash it with a tune or back to stock, it doesn't take as long, maybe 5 minutes. The device stores the stock tune, so it only has to back it up once.

The only concern I have is oasis keeps track of every time the ecm is updated at the dealership. So if reflash 20 times and oasis or dealership inventory shows 04 times they could say 16 times were done via a handheld device. Because there would be no reason ecm would without a repair order.

Explain... Is "OASIS" a program feature in our ECM's, or part of Ford Dealer/ MFG software? Are you sure that our ECM counts the exact number of ECM updates?

I wonder that too how do we find out? When I bought a used 2007 F350 PSD I had the dealer run an "OASIS" report and it showed the multitude of times ECM had been updated at dealer around 5 I think.

yes OASIS is a dealer used program that will tell you everything from tsb's to recalls, to build specs on all fmc. vehicals by vin nimber. it also will tell you if the pcm or any other computer is "up to date" with the latest ford software for all the little tweeks they make. It does not (atleast on my version) have any type of count on pcm flashes or programs done. It just states what version your system is operating.

love when you post after typing and there are four more replies in the thread
