has anyone ever taken apart the power seat buttons to clean the contacts? I have issues with my seat refusing to go forward or back lately, and suspect the button is the issue. as it won't work sometimes, and then suddenly work others. so wonder if a good cleaning of the contacts would help. I have take apart the window and lock switches when I had issues and they now work great.

In my experience, the motor is the problem 100 times out of 100 on the seats.

If you've taken window and lock buttons apart, the seat buttons will be very similar. I don't need to warn you then about springs, pins, and sliding contacts trying to escape the confines of a dark switch housing. Based on your description it sounds like the seats refuse to work more often than they work, so I'd suggest checking for power to and through the switches (starting with checking for power to the motors) before worrying too much about the switches. That will help you determine if you should start with motors, wiring, or switches.
