First year production numbers

It looks like it will be just over 7000 SHO's for the first year. I will have more info for you guys this coming week.

I'd be interested in hearing what the final SHO production numbers are. They made 7013 1970 Boss 302s at a base price of $3270. That's $18,370 in today's dollars. Of course the SHO has a few more amenities, but still, quite a bit of difference at $37,999!

I talked to a salesman at the local Ford dealer today while having the oil changed on my 2010 SHO and he said the total 2010 SHO production (not sales) was around 3,800.

Don't ever believe what a local Ford dealer tells you.. They dont have a clue as to what was sold, built or anything.. that info does not go to dealers..

They make them for the SHO too, huh! I know they made them for Cobras... that's pretty neat. Thanks for the info Kirk.

Yeah, but us SVT owners got all that stuff when we bought the vehicles. Now we gotta pay extra for it to get the SHOs info. I'm guessing @ $30-$50.00 for it. What do you guys think?

I don't know how it is now, but you could get one of those certificates any time for free. I would hope it would still be free or just a nominal fee. Heck, I think a top of the line Marti report is what, under $100? I'm calling tomorrow about it and post what I find out.

It's not free any more Mike. Some of the guys who are just now buying L's are paying for them. IIRC, $40.00 is what they go for from Ford, and that's just the lone certificate of authenticity.

I just called the performance group... they're $45! If you're a member of the SHO Club, mach 1 Registry or one other club (I didn't get it) there's a 15% discount. He said they stopped being free in '04.

When did you take delivery and what MN dealer did you get yours from? I too bought mine in MN (Metropolitan Ford, ordered in July and received in October). So the definitive 2010 total SHO build is 7114. Good to know, thanks for the post.

Seems like one of the Ford folks at the convention was saying that the SHO was accounting for 25% of Taurus sales. I'm sure Ford is happy with that mix, but if that is the case and there were 7114 SHOs, then that means they sold less than 30,000 total Taurus vehicles. Can't believe that Ford would be happy with that number, even in today's economic mess.

I bought it off the lot at Superior Ford in Plymouth. The car was manufactured on 8/25.

I ordered mine on the embargo release date of 2/12/09, my order somehow got messed up, sat and it took a call to a freind of mine at Ford to push it through. (long story)


Mine was built on 9/11 and I had it on the 19th of September. my 6 are 110884 w/12s.. Im kind of happy that I got a 9/11 build..

I have to send in my vin for the cert this week..

Wow, they must have really been pumping them out by then! My build date is 8/26 and I thought I would have had one of the first few built. Thanks for the info... if you could post a picture of it, that would be great. I'm curious to see what they look like also.

Mike, Harry S from Maryland has the earliest production numbered car that I have seen.. his is 103xxx...

Back before there was any mention of the Taurus and SHO, I was at the pre media release in Jan of 09 I was in some prototypes with 101xxx, I have those numbers and pics somewhere and Ive always wanted to keep a database of car numbers and production.

I also got my SHO from Metropolitan Ford. Bought it on March 31st. It already had 3000 miles on it since the sales manager had been using it for awhile.

WOW thats odd ****! that means that 3529 Taurus, SHO, MKS, non S lincolns were made in 5 days!.

roughly 705 cars per day!
