I have found it best to roll into the the throttle if your'e going to spray first. Just launch as if you were at a street light trying to get in front of someone in the next lane. Then roll (i.e DON'T stomp) into the throttle, it should be a fluid movement. Basically, it limits the time the nitrous has to build power in first gear. By the time you have your full shot, it'll be about time to shift. Same thing for second, just roll into it alittle faster and try not to powershift. Sure you could powershift the crap outta the car, and gain a couple tenths... but then you run the risk of having this happen all over again.

Oh and BTW... welcome to the addiction. Hope you can afford the monthly nitrous bill. I've run over 100lbs through my car since I installed the system. At $60 a pop, well you get the idea.

Shit i wish nitrious was that cheap here... paid 88 bucks to fill my 10 lb zex bottle... thinking about buying it bulk from some gas supplier.

my first time ever drag racing which is still my only time i ran a 16.8 in the SHO it was completely stock at that time besides suspension. i did a burn out the whole first gear. drag racing is hard and you need to practice to get better at it

so all the people that are talking S*&% about Matasho's first run at the drags

how well did you do the first time? :munch:

Honestly? The first time, I did a 15.4... but it was in an ATX. Afterwards, I played with a tweecer and made things worse... I decided I'd bump the shift schedules up and took the 1-2 shift to 7500 (which actually turned out to be more around 8000 thanks to the horribly inaccurate tach - I have UDPs so no alternator explodey) and that didn't work out too well; I ran about a 16.8 and blew a power steering hose for my efforts, so I got kicked out after two runs. Now I've got the shift tuned in better, shifting around 7300 and I'm pretty confident with that and the suspension mods that I could run low 15s, if not 15 flat. It feels quick.

I know some of you are going to cry that the power falls off after 6800-7000, and I agree, to a point. When it shifts at 6800, honestly it feels boggy at the beginning of 2nd, and that can't be helping - when it shifts at 7300 it hits 4K at the beginning of second and it's in a pretty good sweet spot. I beat SN95 GTs on a regular basis, mostly on the shift; it shifts real quick.
