I'm hoping it's just the astronomical amount of humidity and cold here in WA state, but when I stop at either the first (sometimes second) stop sign or red light, the idle while viewing my tach goes sproig to about 1500 or so, then drops to 0 unless I feather the throttle. After the second stop or after cruising to a minimum amount of warm up time, the car runs at 900 with zero bad idle.
Has anyone else had this phenomenon happen to them, and if so, can you attribute it to any specific problem? I will appreciate any response and help on this. I've already changed my bad DIS awhile ago, have new plugs, wires, TPS.
I'm about 9,000 miles into my 60,000 mile major overhaul. Thanks for any ideas on this. Like I wrote, it's just for about 3 minutes or so, but the first stop after start up is frustrating.

Thanks guys. I will check on that..but, and that's a big but, I'm almost afraid to after reading some stories of others who cleaned it and made it run worse, and breaking the connector, and so on. Thanks again.

You could always buy a new one, but there's no guarantee that it will work right either. Whatever you do, make sure you RESET THE IDLE when you're done. You should probably try that before you start messing with the IAC.
