Hi everyone! Have been a member here for a while, but this is my first post.

To keep this relatively short:
I have a 1989 SHO with a busted manual transmission , and a soon to be freshly painted 1986 mustang foxbody with a rod-knocking 2,3.

I want to swap the 3.0 SHO V6 into the mustang, and as far as I understand, the easiest way to go about this is by using the Ranger M5OD transmission. Got a thumbs up from the Norwegian DMV on this project, so I’m keen to make this happen!

I have not been able to find a transmission in Norway, so any information/help sourcing the transmission and all the other parts needed for this swap (clutch etc) would be greatly appreciated.

best regards, Eirik

Welcome. Are you looking for a used transmission or a rebuilt/remanufactured one? What do you need exactly? Parts sourced from over here, or what parts to look for on your continent?

Thanks for replying! I need a gearbox in working condition, doesn’t really matter if it’s a used or remanufactured one, as long as it works. As for the other parts needed, I was hoping for a little more input, I believe this knowledge exists on this forum.. (I think a Chevrolet lumina 3.4 clutch can be used, but need more info on the surrounding parts).

I think sourcing all the parts from the US is the way to go. I have a shipping contact in Cleveland OH who regularly ships to Norway.

Well there are used part search engines and places like LKQ which is a large national salvage/used part company. You can try your luck searching if you have the year and make of the vehicle. So whatever year ford ranger and transmission

https://www.car-part.com/
https://www.partshotlines.com/
https://www.salvageusedparts.com/
https://www.lkqonline.com/

thank you! I’ll give these a shot! And if anyone here on the forum happen to have any of the parts necessary for this swap, please hit me up!
