first autocross of the year

.. so i think it's gonna be a good year. we just had a test and tune today and though i don't think there are any official results posted, i did much better than i expected to. having the 245-45 azenis on all 4 corners made a huge difference. for comparison.. FTD was 29.somthing and my three best times were all in the 33.6 area. not bad for a heavy fourdoor with an open diff. and i've got my new clutch, quaife, and fluid sitting on the counter right now waiting on the opertunity to be installed. i may be able to post some vid and pics soon. gonna see what i got. either way.. i'm stoked about this season.

Nice times! Can't wait to see how you do with the Quaife. They say it's good for 1 to 1.5 sec on an autocross course.

I long for that glorious day when a Taurus SHO achieves FTD!!!!

BTW I just got me a set of Yokohama Advan Neovas. Took them out for a spin in a big empty parking lot doing some figure 8's (in Mexico). All I can say is. . .. . DAMN!!! I can't wait for the next meet!!!

They seem to grip significantly better than the Falkens. And even though they cost 2x as much, they are said to last 2x as long (60 runs with Falkens vs. 120 runs with the Yoko's). Might be worth looking at when the Falkens wear out.

i'll check into those. what i'm really pleased about is that i've accomplished this with an open diff, intrax springs, and street tires. that means i'm really at the bottom of the "Prepared" class. there is PLENTY more to do to the car. future plans include: Quaife, coilovers, R-comps, and eventually i might really gut this car (still have allot of my interier). i'm really excited about were this car is headed.
