My car overheated or something, on the right side of the engine somewhere below the belts it gets really red and something green started melting it cought on fire I was lucky I was washing my moms car and I had the wter hose next to me. Now I have water in my plugs that's not a big deal because that can dry, but this kinda green greace started to melt after the car heats up this thing below the bests gets really hot and that kinda green thing stats to melt I'm scared to drive it so it's just sitting in the parkin lot. that green greace or something is coming somewhere near the tires, a friend told me it could be the CV JOINTS and that I should change the boots. I don't know much about this. Did this ever happen to anyone?
thanx

Definitely confusing to read... It's possible your CV grease was ignited by the cat. Maybe you can post a picture for us to look at to help you diagnose what happened.

Brucesa,

Look for the grease splattered around the inner fender well if you have a break or tear in the outer C/V joint boot.

Look for the grease splattered around the engine, firewall, exhaust, back of the engine block, etc., if you have a split, cracked, torn, inner C/V joint boot.

It "sounds" like you have an inner boot that is getting grease on the exhaust and/or catylitic (sp?)converter that is catching on fire or smoldering.

Check the boots for tears or any openings that are allowing the C/V grease to be thrown out of the boot. Replace any defective boots.

The C/V joints should be checked for wear and/or damage after they are thoroughly cleaned. If it is the joint that is getting hot because of a lack of lubrication, then the joint should be replaced. rangerj
