Finished In-Fender CIA

I got a chance to finally finish up my cold air in-fender intake today. Here is some pics of the finished product. It is 4" mandrel bent tubing with a 4" conical filter covered with an Outerwear's prefilter. The connector from the pipe to the MAF is bulk 4" silicone hose from a local diesel performance shop.

I logged a few runs with the SCT tonight and it is a bit rich with the stock program. Going to get the wide band on this weekend to see how rich. The sound is not what I expected. It's kind of erie . Very hollow sounding with the 4" tubing. I equate it to an old 454 chevy motor with the secondaries open when the IMRC opens. Very cool but very different.

It is bulk mandrel bent exhaust tube. I picked it up from Diesel Components in Burnsville, Mn. I just cut and welded the bends.

You need to block off the area where you can see the tranny lines in the picture. You will pull hot air in from there.

I noticed in another post that you (or I think it was you) made that this area might be an issue. I have some thin mud flaps that I can cut up and fit in place to block that off. I also have sone 1"x1" closed cell adhesive foam tape that I'm going to fit in the area where the intake passes through. Thanks for mentioning that area. I almost forgot about it.
