Ok i just did the valve shim adjustment/check i have checked all the gaskets they have all seated correctly and nothing got rolled over. however when i start the car i start getting smoke from the back exauhst manifold after it has been started for around 1 minute. i think it might be the wd40 i got back there when i was cleaning but i have started it up 4 times for periods of 5 min each and it smokes everytime. also i checked all the valves and made sure they were withing the clearence however i am getting a tapping koming from the front valve cover...did something seat wrong and should i take it back apart to correct it or is some of this a bit normal...also if it helps any i had alot of oil in my plug wells that went into the cylander when i took the plugs out i tried vaccuming it all out but would this cause any problems

You should have cleaned out the plug wells PRIOR to removing the spark plugs. With this oil and grit going into the cylinder, I'd expect plenty of smoke out of the exhaust when you restart the engine.

However, you're mentioning smoke off of the manifold. Any WD40 should burn off within seconds of the manifold reaching operating temps. Did you check if the rear valve cover gasket stayed in place while lowering the cover onto the head? If that seal didn't take, you might have an oil leak from the cover leaking onto the manifold. Check the rear valve cover for any leaking oil.

ok found the tapping i made a little reading mistake so that is fixed i am going to start it up again in 15 min after checking the rear bank but the gasket seated correct i even took it off and seated it again and checked this mornin and it is dry as a bone back there i can't imagine what would kause the smoke...except for the fact that it starts about the same time the smoke out the exhaust starts

You might try driving it around for a while, and see if whatever is smoking just burns up and doesn't return. It could just be residue left there by a previous leaky seal or from the 60k itself.
