Finally found a local dyno

Was in the low 70's and I drove it about half an hour to get there and immediately put it on dyno, so probably a wee bit of room for improvement if it was cooled off first, but I'm happy with the numbers. Horsepower was a little lower than I was expecting but torque was way over what I thought it would be.

434.67 HP and 532.64 LB/FT

Gearhead E30 tune, Gearhead intercooler, LMS HPFP, LMS catted dp's, EPP intake and MSD coils.

Not bad numbers at all.

Remember, that bone stock SHO's typically range in between 277 to 285AWHP from the assembly line.

So considering where you're now at, and where you came from, that's not only impressive, but also right on given your mod list.

Street tires, the nittos have been sitting in the corner of my garage since last November. I find I'm a little too lazy to swap them just for track days now.

I am surprised you had trouble finding a local Dyno. IPS Motorsports is in Lewis Center. Very big in the LSx world. SlowMotion Motorsports is in Sunbury. Very big in the Honda world. DynoTune Motorsports is in Galloway. Very big in the Ford world. Crucial Performance is in Columbus. Kontras is in Columbus. Rabid Customs is in Groveport. Tapout Tuning is in Plain City. Very big in the LF4 world.

Few other options depending if you need a tuner or just a dyno run. If you are not on www.columbusracing.com check it out. They sometimes setup dyno days or track days.

Slow motion was first one I called. They wouldn't let me touch the dyno unless they were tuning it. Couple others I called over the years would schedule months away. This place I called on a wednesday and was in the following monday.

I go back and forth on that. On the one hand I have no interest in finding the limits of my motor and I enjoy how consistent the car is how it sits, but then on the other hand I think when my turbos finally do crap out on me why not spend just a little bit more and get the good stuff.

If money wasn't an object I wouldn't be driving a taurus in the first place. I guess the easy answer would be I'm not really sure and hoping not to find out the answer anytime soon.
