V-6? Yes. But I have put Borla on a 4-cylinder before and even that car sounded better.

Like mentioned, I think it sounds really good coming out of the mufflers. But man does it suck inside the car. It's hard to describe, but it's almost like it's louder inside the car than it is with my ears right next to the mufflers. I've never heard anything like it before, and that's why I'm hoping that something else is wrong other than the tips being welded on incorrect. I'm really trying to reserve final judgement until the new system gets installed.

From inside the car, does it seem to get louder from idle to a certain point and then level out or get a little more quiet as the RPMs climb higher?

Never thought about it in those terms. When I'm driving tomorrow, I'll focus on that and get back with you.

I have the Borla on mine. The drone was terrible at 2K rpms... Turns out that when they installed it and removed the 3rd cat they used junk flex pipes that were causing the drone... Once I put new downpipes on it that came with a much nicer set of flex pipes the drone is almost gone, very minor now. Might want to check to see how they connected it to the stock pipes before the exhaust.. good luck!!

If anything, I would say your first description (louder, then level out). The inside exhaust sound pretty much matches the RPM's.

Yep, Ford introduced that at the Ford Nationals in June.
I wonder how many folks have gone with that set up.

Well, after two looooong months, I finally received the replacement mufflers and installed them myself today.

I took a minute long video for the sound on my iPhone, but I can't get it to load directly onto this thread. How best to proceed?

I usually load it up to YouTube and post the link here.

So how's the sound inside the cabin? You said it sounds good outside which it does but terrible drone. Has that been fixed?

With the new mufflers, the sound inside and outside is still identical to how it was before. I'm going to have the rest of the pipes checked just to make sure there isn't a leak somewhere upstream in the system.

To be clear, the cabin sound isn't drone. It is like a reverberation or exhaust leak.

Ugh, you're killing me, xFallenxCripplex. I'm still celebrating for posting my first YouTube video. :)

I'll work on that. I'll have to check first of course to make sure that the sound will come through as it truly sounds. But, yes, I will try.

BTW: interesting if Borla is making the Ford Racing exhaust for the sho, it's a very different design than the original Borla design based on the sound.

Sounds good OP! Definitely one of the better ones I've heard and makes me want one but I'll hold out for the cabin vids. Thanks for posting up the vids so everyone could hear how they sound!

Sounds good. I was always a Borla fan. Thanks for the video cuz I'm trying to determine what I like more between Borla and Corsa.

After I made the video, I messed around with the rest of the cat-back to try and find a problem that would have caused the racket I was hearing from inside with the original Borla/FRPP mufflers. Whether it was that or the new replacement mufflers, the horrible sounds are gone. I'm not certain which had caused it, but the in-cab sound is now perfectly acceptable. The fart can rattle that I was hearing is no more. It also sounds just a little quieter at idle from the outside than it did with the original Borla mufflers. A part of me thinks there may have also been something internally wrong with those mufflers besides just the incorrectly welded tips. But those are now back at the factory (hopefully cut up into a bunch of little pieces) and we'll never know.

I've tried several times to make a recording from inside the car with my phone, but it isn't picking up anything worthwhile on the mic. Not trying to insinuate it's whisper quiet, but just that a phone video won't really reflect the true sound.

In an earlier posting, I rated this system at a lowly 3 - 4 on a 10 scale. Now that everything is right with the world, I would give it an 8 or 9. And that is simply because of the length of time it took to get everything straightened out. Otherwise, I'm now VERY happy with this set up.

P.S. - Thanks for all the positive comments, guys!
