Absolutely beautiful work.
I would love to hear the muffled version.
I wouldn't beat myself up over 'back pressure'. You're turbos create 10 times the BP that any type of exhaust system would. I would look into scavenging and gather data around that. That is what will empty the cylinder.

Yeah, in regards to scavenging, I think, if anything, this setup may improve it. At the cost of a sane decibel level though haha. Lots of other mods coming to this build that may end up benefiting more from this particular exhaust setup.

As for muffled section, he's gonna be working on it, but its moved down on the priority list a bit. Might be a minute before I get that piece done. Its definitely gorgeous work, but it comes at a dollar value. I need to take a short break in regards to my car budget I think, lol.

Looks good!

When it comes to exhaust back pressure I think there is really just too many half-truths or misapplied information out there. Without a doubt, oversizing a set of tube headers can result in less than optimal power. And NA, turbo, blower, it doesn't matter because the physics behind it are the same. But the reasons why that is true may have little to no applicability once you get past the collector.

There's more to pressure than what you read on a gauge. That's just (mostly) static pressure. I'm guessing an exhaust pulse produces also produces a dynamic pressure in the region of -10 psi. I'd be willing to bet that the exhaust system which produces the lowest total pressure at the ports wins on the dyno every single time, and that it may or may not coincide with lower gauge pressure. Its just my personal theory though.

Its truly show quality craftsmanship and absolutely one of the best of the best welding I've seen. Super jealous my exhaust doesn't look that good! It sounds really nasty too....like Good Nasty! If I heard that I would not expect it from your Explorer. Hurt a lot of feelings in the SHO, I would assume the XSport makes ppl cry.

That guy could charge whatever he wants and get it. The welds on my exhaust look 3rd grader in comparison....theres no comparison basically. Truly high quality and someone who takes pride in their work and its obvious.

I haven't put much thought into scavenging and what not. I thought no exhaust was best so I went with two x pipes lol. Don't know if that's good or bad, but its loud.
