1 year ago (and a few days) I broke the sho ecoboost platform record for the first time! 11.38 @ 118.9mph in a heat wave. (4700da and 98 degrees) Was running stock size turbos, this was before the nitrous, the methanol and the hybrid turbos. Seems like not that long ago but I made this video overviewing the car the day after going over the fine details. It really wasn't that impressive of a time but it's progress for the sho world.

Now I'm rebuilding the car for big power and getting with some of the best vendors our platform has. Feel free to sub if it's something you're interested in following.

I posted these words on Facebook and figured it would fit well over here also. A lot has happened in that last year and I've enjoyed every moment.

The lack of power really shows in the mph but it was a rocket out of the whole and I think that was the defining feature that allowed me to get the time I did.

That is why these cars work so good out of the hole. Now if you can get it to act like a real turbo car and get the big end charge...... Fun times.

Big end is for sure already happening with upgraded turbos. Was trapping 126 on dragy on the street to top end was resolved where nitrous filled the void before on my 11.08 @ 126. Car kept pulling hard after the upgraded turbos and I was really only limited by well a rod lol

Most 10 seconds cars go 130 ish in the quarter....you are close.

For reference my small motor (SBE 4.8) TT Camaro with a PG went 10.84 at 131.

Crazy your SHO is within .3 tenths of that. That is so cool.

You were on your way. Your new set up will be fast. I believe when a vehicle clicks off a 10 second pass, it leaves the world of being quick......and enters the new world of being fast.

Agreed while I've always claimed the fastest record I've always called the car quick because honestly this platform is not fast... Yet..

Everyone's definition of "fast" will always be different. To me, anything that can click off a 12.XX in the 1/4 is fast because it's more than most will ever need. Some aren't happy unless they are hitting single digits in the 1/4 and by then, that's f'ing fast to me!!!

Side note, saw the Fusion tuned on E30. Any reason you didn't go straight E85?

I've chatted with Brad a few times and as you know, his own Fusion is straight E85 and said that nothing besides a tune is needed. I wish that were the case for our cars, but the cost to get to that point is well beyond what I care to spend. Best of luck and keep kicking ass!

You can run E85 with just a tune with Brad. The problem is....you will not get any more performance more than stock.

I do remember reading awhile back someone was, but they had to run much lower boost to make it happen. And to your point of being no better than stock, no reason go backwards in regards to performance!.

I'm trying to find an excuse to make a run to get some essentials so I can play stoplight to stoplight with someone!

Right now? I filled up last week for the first time in nearly 4 months... I'm fortunate to be able to WFH during this pandemic and most likely will be doing so for the foreseeable future. Prior to that, I drove about 200 miles a week.

At the minimum, I'll have to switch tuners. I already asked LMS about it and as you can imagine, they won't unless I have their HPFP installed.

Good things come to those who wait and my nagging to the wife will eventually pay off ;)

Go directly to AJPTurbo.....do not pass go, do not collect any other tunes.

Have you guys had any talk with your tuners to see gains that can be had from the transaxle in terms of fluid use? ULV is a much thinner viscosity and I think the Raptor transmission uses it, but I don't know how it stacks up in terms of friction modifiers. Not much discussion has taken place about tuners tailoring a specific fluid for stall, apply speed, shear, and drag.
SMK had a good point on top speed and times. This is Apple's to Oranges, but back in the day the magic number for my big block Camaro running slicks was 11.01 @ 131mph. Also, with more power, you can take advantage from gearing and tire diameter.
