Well, I'm back out of an SHO.

So you guys already know it failed emissions because of incomplete tests. I finally took it back to them and said YOU get it to pass emissions, I'm done. They took it to a ford dealership, who looked at it and found...

Whoever owned it before me did a tune and replaced the pcm and "other stuff" that they didn't specify, and hosed it all up. I told them just give me back my car and my down payment and cancel my loan, which they agreed to. And to top it all off, I stopped to get groceries on the way home (in my old Taurus), and boom, dead battery. They had to jump start it to get it to me and didn't bother to tell me. And when I finally managed to beg a jump start and drive to autozone to get a new battery, it turns out the battery that was in there wasn't the one I replaced 4 months ago. I'm f-ing heated right now.

W O W !!! That’s super shady. Run for the hills, far away from that dealership.

I'm going to keep my eyes open for another one, but damn this left a bad taste in my mouth.

I get doing a tune. But not putting it back to stock or telling them it was modded when you trade it in?

Good luck. Before buying it I would suggest a good tech (if you know of one) to run diagnostics and inspection on it before you sign any sales contract. It's worth $100-175 or whatever to have a 3rd party give it a once over physically and with a detailed systems scanner.

The PP is over rated and not really neccessary.

That's hilarious! They took your battery and put a dead one in place of it!? Good God!

Well, I finally got back into one. 2016, black inside and out.

I'm a little bugged that it doesn't seem to have lane assist or adaptive cruise control, though. wtf I thought that was standard on the SHO?

But I'm happy with it otherwise. I'll take pics when the sun comes out.

The really good news is, I think it's actually going to pass emissions lol

All the readiness tests are complete, and no codes. That's a relief.

Haha, anything that gives you better equipment (brakes, pistons, street gearing) better handling, and better cooling capabilities on critical components is not OVER RATED and a complete ignorant statement. Majority of sellers (both private and public) have zero idea what the PP package is, so it usually does not affect price as well.

The PP was a lost opportunity by Ford but they fooled people into buying a towing/enhanced stop and go fleet package mislabeled as a performance upgrade... The later in years the less the difference between the two. Honestly I think brake pads, steering wheel, gearing, nannies button, and enhanced cooling are the only additional equipment for the PP in most 2015+ applications but you sacrifice creature comforts as well slightly better performance in a straight line with the nonPP.
And most testing shows better performance on straight track and twisty track with traction control On.

In the end its all personal choices and prices that make it happen. Of course availability.... Also a factor. I enjoyed the **** out of mine. Resold it for almost what I paid for it.
If I had a do-over, I would go NON-PP again. I daily drove too much to sacrifice any comfort.

I have the leather wheel and 2A axle code. Is that good news?

What sort of places can I buy the xenon HID headlights? Apparently autozone and oreilly don't carry them.

You can swapp the headlights left and right as well as the ballast module. The connectors are all the same.

The osram night breaker lasers are pretty darn good upgrade
