I have a ‘16 with the sync 3. It’s definitely worth it in my opinion. I will say that the early ‘16’s did NOT have the Apple CarPlay Android auto USB port in the center console required to utilize that feature. That said, it’s like $70 shipped to your house.
I did not consider the massaging seats necessary since most of my driving is an hour or less.

However, I did require the 401a group which gives you the upgraded stereo and heated rear seats for the kiddos.

The adaptive cruise control and lane departure is also unnecessary to me because I don’t do a lot of highway driving and I have trust issues when it comes to a camera controlling a 4500lbs brick down the interstate.

I drive 40 miles a day on the highway and lane keeping is great. It's so much easier to drive on a day with high cross winds pushing the car around. I am still in full control of the car at all times- lane keeping does not overpower your ability to steer the car yourself. I'd think people living in the plains states would find it extremely useful.

on the lane keeping- I mean, I guess if the system ****** up and went crazy it could careen me into a ditch, but the electric steering rack could do the same without any lane keeping involved, as could a dozen other failures. Yeah, it's one more, but I've never heard of any Ford crashing do to driver assist tech going wonky. Now Teslas OTOH- yeah, kind had some deaths there- but Tesla's system is so far beyond what a SHO is doing. There are all kinds of videos and pictures of Tesla drivers asleep at the wheel.

I didn't like the ACC at first, but now I do. It's still too aggressive accelerating back up to speed after it has slowed, but I drive around that.

I've used the active parallel parking once, but it worked great. Massaging seat aren't only for long drives- it can be great for anyone with a back injury. Too bad the car is nearly impossible to get in and out of with a back injury though.

Speaking of back pain and Ford seats- if anyone who has any pull at Ford is reading this, please, tweak your software to allow us to activate the seat back and seat bottom heaters separately. I can activate the seat back and bottom massage functions separately. I would love to be able to turn on the heated seat back only when my back is killing me and not have to simultaneously roast my nuts.

Good call on the zones for the heated seats, Eric. I really wish I had the massaging seats. A friend of mine has them in his F150 and they work well. The auto park is neat, but I think I've used it twice since I've owned the car, and that was just to show someone else that it works.

I completely agree with all you have said.
It’s very important to make a list of what features make you happy and find the car with all of them!!

btw it does have heated seats, adaptive cruise, lane control, and auto park. But no fancy steering wheel.

I haven’t ever used a usb drive to play music. I’m lazy and just play it through my phone.
Hopefully someone can help you though.

By the way, nice freaking car!! What interior does it have?

So is this the PP steering wheel?

87n8Ma6

As opposed to what? What does the non-PP SHO wheel look like?

Yesh thaz it. I absolutely hated that thing. For me it was a major decider in not getting a PP. The other reason was I wanted the active cruise and lane keeping features. I had zero regrets and I enjoyed the **** out of that car for about 40k miles before I sold it for about what I paid for it.

Well, the bad news is, it won't pass emissions. I have three "incomplete" tests: catalyst, o2 sensor, and o2 sensor heater. They told me just drive it more, but I've driven it 300 miles since Friday. Is there anything I can do to force those to update? I have a hard time believing that I need to drive it more than 300 miles to be able to pass emissions.

Also...I have to swap my catless DP in my Focus ST every year. Not a big problem, however when I put the stock DP back on, it does take me about 300 miles for everything to read ready.

I don't know. What would I look for?

Interesting. So I guess I'll keep driving it until those turn green (if ever).

You need to get under the car and look to see if there are cats. Below is a pic of the stock DP's cats (right side) along with PPE catted DP's.
