Fast Idle

My SHO intermittently idles at 2000 - 2500 rpm. It is like the throttle is stuck. Any ideas? I am thinking throttle position sensor or cruise control gone mad.

Easy remove black cover check both linkages..... (sp). Also might be the Idle by pass sticking, but these cars seem to need TPS sensors replace in certian years. Your on the right track.

I think the cure is a new TPS harness at a cost of $17 from Ford.

I was having the same probs and reset my batt. Reset it by starting car, leaving in park for 10 sec., then drive, reverse etc. Do the same thing with the defrost and ac on. Worked for me.
