While my results were a little better, I failed again today. Even though I replaced the plugs, wires, and O2 sensors.

The only test I failed was Hydrocarbons (unburned fuel). It was 1.40GPM, when it should be, at most, .80GPM, according to the EPA.

I passed Carbon Monoxide, with 9.0GPM.

My Carbon Dioxide results were 531.7GPM, which they don't pass or fail you on. And my Oxides of Nitrogen count was 6.20GPM, if any of that helps.

Last week my 95 mtx failed miserably. The only thing it passed on was co. The HCs were 106 ppm and the NO was 2146 ppm. I replaced the wires, plugs, O2 sensors and the cats. The car passed upon retest but I still had HCs at 35 ppm. This concerned me as I didn't want to overheat the new cats with so much unburnt fuel. I then had the injectors and combustion chambers cleaned using a "motovac procedure". I returned to the testing shop and got an HC value of 2 ppm. Hopefully my experience can help you.

jbeano, where abouts in Canada are you located? I am in BC, Lower Mainland Vancouver Area.

Groo, Try the methyl hydrate trick. I think that this will help lean out the system. What I would do is with about a quarter tank of gas, put about 1 liter (quart) of Methyl hydrate in your gas tank, then run your engine for a good blast on the highway to get it up to operating temp, then go directly to the testing facility. Get tested. Pass test. Then fill up again to the top with the flavour of gas that you would normally use to dilute the methyl hydrate. You do not want to drive with great amounts of this stuff in your system foe a long time.

Good luck!

Prophet...why are you still posting here?

I pulled the codes today. There was only one, 332, "EGR valve opening not detected".
