Factory sub wiring

I was wondering how to tell the difference in positive and negitive on the speaker wires that go to the factory sub box. When I looked at the two wires that go to the box, I didn't see markings on them. I'm hooking up a sub and need to use the wires as level inputs.

To the actual speaker it's black is (+) and black w/ white stripe is (-). You should have looked at this post.
