Whats happening fellow SHO owners? Have a question about the factory sub. I have removed the enclosure and plan on putting either a very efficient 8" or 10" in place of the 6" sub. My first question is, the sub speaker wire has black/green dots and black/white stripe. Which is - and which is + ? Also what kind of power does the factory sub amp put out? I think for the time being I will replace all factory speakers but utilize the factory amps. It seems to sound pretty decent now, but would imagine it will sound much better with new speakers. The head unit is aftermarket by the way.

The wiring diagram I have doesn't say which is which. I would assume that the black w/ white is the negative. It really doesn't matter anyway.

It will work either way its wired.

This is true. If you wire it up backwards, all that's gonna happen is the sub will "pull" instead of "push" but you will get bass all the same. How are you using your stock amp with an aftermarket deck? Do you have it hooked up via the RCA outs on the deck? If you're just connecting to the harness in the dash and using the existing speaker wires that are there, this could be a bad thing. Amplifying (with the amp) an amplified signal (from the deck) can destroy your amp, your deck, or both. When I put the aftermarket deck in my 95 I got the amp bypass harness.
