Well i have again started on my gen 3 radio kit install and im happy to say i have complete the prototype and it works climate controls and all i have no pic yet but i am gettin them done this week and now im collecting information on a mold made of abs plastic to make these kids this price its cost me to develope these kits through a mold maker will factor in on the price.

I am still very much interested. Way to go by the way. I look forward to seeing pics of your work. I feel guilty though, I wonder how much of an initial investment is going to be required. Not to mention all the hours of work. How many people have you found who have committed or otherwise to buying one?

I know I would be willing to put a small deposit to help with initial costs. Maybe if you had a 100 or so others who would be willing to do the same that would help out. I'm not making any assumptions about your finances, but regardless I think it would be easier to go ahead with the work of producing these for others knowing that you had customers waiting. Just a thought I guess.

You can count me in. I would love to upgrade maybe with a integrated XM/NAV system, the Pioneer AVIC-N2 would look awsome with a 6.5" touch-screen TFT

Status?

Been watching this site every day wating for the forums to come back up.

I recently bought a 99 Sable with the electronic climate controls. my last car (91 Taurus SHO) had a standard DIN slot so replacing the head unit was no problem.

The only glimmer of hope ive seen for reusing my head unit and Sirius adapter is this thread. Does anyone know what came of all this? The pictures of the prototype looked amazing... Really hope the project didnt die.

Thanks!

sounds great. when there is new news please post it in this thread since I'm subscribed to it, I don't want to miss anything. I was working on my own custom job on an automatic oval, but I haven't had much time to work on it, maybe I'll just wait for this one to be available.

I believe everyone who has tried this has hit a dead end and given up. Those who are interested may do well to try working one yourself instead of waiting for someone else to do it. Fact is, first one to get it done properly is going to make a lot of sales and money.
