factory radio and amp problem

i am trying to diagnose a problem in the factory setup..how can i tell if my amp is bad .does it just stop working..it sounds good sometimes but then sounds like interference and low volume other times ..i tried an aftermarket alpine everything powers up but no volume...any help is greatly appreciated thanks

do you have a aftermarket head unit if so the amp on the head unit will overload your stock and and it will kick off try umplugging the wires on the right of the black amp in the trunk

just look to the imediate left or right with the radio out , you may see the plugs with the glove box down , but you will see the stock 70-1770 harnesses there (black and gray) you can unplug those and run direct from the new deck bypassing the stock jbl amp !
