Forgive me but this is for my 96 Windstar. I just bought a CD player on ebay. It is dated Dec 94. The radio out of the Windstar has a long plug on the right side that goes vertically from the top to the bottom of the deck. This is the same plug that I found at the bone yard on every Taurus, Windstar and a number of other Fords that I checked had. The CD player has two squareish plugs in the same place as you can see in my photo. I did find one plug that will plug into the bottom larger one. But I don't now what plugs into the top one. And I don't know what the bottom one actually is. The large vert plug that is in my Windstar is for the speakers. As is this CD player. With the other plugs in the player has power just no sound. :( Any ideas?

Thats not hard , the long rectangular plug on the left is for the power, lights,so on, all the ford radios had that. The top square plug on the left should have a jumper plug in it, if not then it will not have sound. The middle square plug is where the amp cable plugs in that runs to the factory amplifier premium/jbl. The little small plug is just remote volume controls, nothing to worry about.

This is how the stock ford radio/cassette is.

I believe this is what you bought if I'm correct.

Ok, so the top right hand square plug is the speakers. What car did this thing come out of so I can look for one of those plugs?

Are the wires the same color from one plug to another so I can wire in the cd player plugs up to the old plug?

Thanks so much guys for the help. I wanted to have this thing in the van for our vacation this weekend but I don't know if I will be able to pull it off with the other things I need to get done.

No the middle square plug is for the amp cable(speakers), the top one is just where the jumper plug goes. Well they came in mercury mystique I believe, I'm not sure what else, might try some other mercurys though. I believe they came in the ford contour as well.
