Thank you. Yea I think this will be a tough one to find info on it. PlumberThe EVTM (Electrical and Vacuum Troubleshooting Manual) makes no mention of an alarm system, but does have a section on car phones, so it seems to be complete.
You may need to look in the archives for options on the Mercury Sable, as they had a similar model to the SHO but fitted with the 3.8 Essex engine. It may have been a dealer installed option on the Taurus / Sable.

Thank you . I'll gice that a try. PlumberDealer installed option. Just look up the alarm itself not including the Taurus S.H.O. part.

Thanks for info. I would like to read the instructions but letters to small. Someone gave me things to check so I'll see what I can figure out. Plumber$60 for the alarm on eBay.
According to this 2001 post, DIP switch #3 on the module will turn off automatic arming. The module was made by Code Alarm and uses their transmitters and procedures. I didn't quickly find a 18 pin + 5 pin wiring diagram though.
I would expect that if you unplug the brain, it will probably disable it. It is possible that there is a relay or two that has been installed that requires an "on" signal from the alarm module, such as a starter or ignition ****. I have such a system, actually kind of cleverly wired if I can pat myself on the back.
